This newest resort in Japan opened this season to high praise and fantastic reviews.  Get ready to fly down the powder snow without crowds and enjoy apres-ski activities.  Club Med Tomamu is highly accessible, with direct flights to  Chitose Airport, where a mere 90 minute bus ride or 50 minute JR express train ride will take you to this new resort.

We are very excited to have this second resort on offer. Facilities at Club Med Tomamu include 29km of slopes of various levels, brand new ski lifts and gondolas. Set in the breathtakingly picturesque backdrop of Northern Japan, Tomamu is famous for its breathtaking Unkai Terrace, a panorama of the ever-changing Unkai (Sea of Clouds) and the mountains of Hidaka and Tokachi.

Club Med Tomamu encompasses two accommodation buildings – Hidaka and Yubari with 341 rooms.  Hidaka building offers club rooms, club triple rooms (also interconnect) and club quint rooms while the Yubari building offers club quad, deluxe rooms, deluxe quad and Quint Suites.

Club/Superior Room

Updated images on the way! Club rooms offer accommodation for 2 people, Club Triple rooms which can also interconnect take 3 or 6 and Club Quint rooms are a great option for 5 persons.  We can also secure these for 4 persons offering a bit more space if yo book early.  Club Quad rooms are located in the Yubari building and can be booked with a mountain view.

Deluxe Room

Deluxe rooms are available with or without a mountain view and there are deluxe quad rooms which can take 5 people.






There are 15 Quint Suites offering a mountain view and accommodating 6 persons.  Please ask us about the accommodation configuration and if this would suit your family or travelling group.

Club Med TomamuClub Med Tomamu has received outstanding feedback about the standard of cuisine on offer.  The main restaurant is Itara, which offers a variety of international and Japanese delights, including fresh seafood.  As with so many of the newer Club Med resorts, the main dining area breaks down into distinct spaces and in this case these are inspired by the various Hokkaido regions Bucolic Valley, Farmhouse, Sea of clouds, and Rays of sun, with the Unkai Terrace (available in summer only).

Club Med Tomamu HakuHaku is the specialty restaurant offering Yakiniku BBQ, late breakfast, late lunch and a la carte dinner. Private rooms can be reserved for groups of 6-12, based upon availability.  This is the perfect place to taste the freshest seafood, premium Wagyu beef, and award-winning locally brewed spirits

The Unkai bar offers majestic mountain views and at Club Med Tomamu the bar is truly open for anything you desire from wine, beer, cocktails, soft drinks & juices. You can enjoy drinks any time…perhaps after a fun day of skiing, pre-dinner cocktails and canapés with family and friends or wine & beer with lunch and dinner. It also means you don’t have to worry about how many drinks the kids may have signed to the room throughout the day!

Club Med Tomamu NestThe Nest – Zen bar offers cosy seating and Mahjongg as well as live music set the scene.  Here you can enjoy a curated tea lesson or take part in the bar’s immersion into some of the best local whiskies and sakes (a cost may apply). What better way to relax than by sinking into a cosy chair with a glass of sake in hand?

Skiing & Snowboarding

Professional ski and snowboard instructors, who are perfectly familiar with the ski domain at Club Med Tomamu, will guide you over the slopes best suited to your level of skill, to ensure you progress safely but surely in the best possible conditions.  A test is held on the first morning to determine your level, and the right class for you.  If you wish to ski/board on your day of arrival, you can purchase a one-day pass, on site.

Club Med Tomamu Hokkaido has 1 Gondola, 5 Lifts and a total course length of 21.5km. Club Med Tomamu spans across 145 hectares of ski slopes with 29 ski runs to choose from. Night skiing is also offered!
– 4 Black runs (most difficult)
– 14 Blue runs (difficult)
– 10 Green runs (easy)
– 1 Orange run (first timer)

You can pre-arrange your ski gear using the Easy Arrival service, meaning everything is ready in your heated locker awaiting your arrive, so you can really maximise your time on the slopes!

Club Med strongly recommend you wear a helmet. Helmets are compulsory for off piste skiing. They are also compulsory for youngsters up to 18 years old; all Club Med Resorts loan helmets to children under 12 (with Club Med skiing/snowboarding equipment rental). Helmet rental rates available on site at the Club Med Ski Service®.

Spa & Wellness Centre

Club Med Tomamu onsenHokkaido is home to a great variety of onsen – unique hot springs dotted around the region for travellers who prefer a more relaxing experience. Soak in a warm outdoor bath while taking in the wintry landscapes. In the daytime, be treated to a sight of endless fields of unspoiled natural beauty. Come nightfall, admire constellations overhead. A delight for both mind and body, Kirin-no Yu in the neighbouring Hoshino resort is located just adjacent to the Mina Mina beach.

Swimming Pool/Hot Tubs

Club Med Tomamu Mina MinaVisit nearby Mina Mina beach, Japan’s largest indoor pool, to ride a totally different wave. Float, swim, or even paddle board, and enjoy warm waters all winter long. For a relaxing experience, the indoor/outdoor Japanese public bath, Kirin-no Yu offers a peaceful reprieve.

The traditional Japanese “Ofuro” hot tub is available at the resort.

Snow Garden

From 4 years old, participants learn to ski with circuits around figurines and under hoops; they learn to use the use the magic carpet with the guidance of Club Med’s experienced G.O’s®. Other snow activities include snow sliding, sledging, and a selection of fun games.


Evening Entertainment & Parties

Every night Club Med transforms* into a “theme” and the staff, known as “G.O’s” present on stage. In addition, once a week, there is a Mini Club Show – a real highlight! Often your kids will be involved whether it’s the mini club show or a fashion parade of the clothing available in the boutique, it’s all lots of fun for parents and kids alike!

Club Med Tomamu offers snow sledding, snow banana boat and snow trekking for those looking for an alternative to skiing and boarding.

Other Leisure activities at an additional cost

At Club Med Tomamu you can snowmobile and at the local ice village you can try your hand at ice fishing and Ice skating.

The breathtaking ‘Unkai Terrace’ panorama of the ever-changing Unkai (Sea of Clouds) and the mountains of Hidaka and Tokachi are close by. This is a major tourist attraction in the area. After a short ride on the gondola, an astonishing sight of mountain peaks above a white sea of clouds appears from a 1,088-meter-high deck.

The Ice Village appears at Tomamu every winter.  Whether you try your hand at skating or test the ice slide or have a tea party on ice…this is sure to be a fun filled time outside the resort.  There are many other activities available and we are happy to share this information with you.

Spare strollers are also available upon request for use at the resort.

PETIT Club Med® for ages 2 and 3 inclusive

Fun and spacious play areas opening managed by experienced G.O®s, who are internationally recruited and trained, the Petit Club Med® is a place, where your little ones can wear themselves out with their new-found friends. There are a host of activities for them to discover on their own or in a group with the G.O®s to encourage them to explore a wide range of activities designed to introduce them to new experiences.

Activities and sports specifically designed for each age group within the MINI Club, all overseen by our G.O®s, to open up a whole new world of discovery and adventure. For children who want to experience the best of  skiing, Club Med ski school instructors will help them set their own pace, while those more interested in other pursuits can take part in arts and crafts, dance, performances, and group games and activities.  Lunch and teatime will be provided during the day to keep parents’ minds at ease. After dinner, they can even enjoy specially created activities to make evenings more fun.

Having had several teenagers in tow at various Club Med’s, I can say that they certainly cater well for them. Club Med understand they need freedom to express themselves and have fun. At Club Med Passworld®, teens can take to the slopes for thrilling adventures in Alpine skiing or snowboarding, or take part in creative activities like playing with makeup, learning graffiti art, dance, singing, and music performances, cinema, or video games. In the evening, teens turn up the volume at disco night or with a variety of shows and films to choose from. There are endless ways to have fun, be themselves, and explore new and exciting adventures.

An additional cost applies.
